Trying to list an item in auction mode but it will not list without buy it now being selected.

That's odd, but which device or browser are you using?

The app/ mobile browser can throw up a variety of glitches and limitations for features,   so if using,  switch to a laptop / PC and try Chrome that seems to work well with eBay.  Never any harm clearing those cache and cookies,  too.

using my pc as normal but 3 items will not list without adding the optional but it now price. just managed to list one by adding price and removing it but the website seems to be behaving very oddly

In which case as it's not device / browser issue I wonder if you have inadvertently selected,  or its defaulted to ' Add Buy it Now. '

Check this by going to the Pricing section,  then far right, from the 2  little lines with circles and ' See pricing options' from the drop down menu there, see that ' Buy it Now ' is deselected.

Finally got the system to list the 3 items by constantly adding BIN then deleting. I rarely use BIN so haven't had this problem before as it's always 'optional' but the system kept putting it on. Very strange as it was only 3 items out of the batch of new ones I was doing. Since they've changed the site, definitely not an upgrade, I've had all sorts of problems particularly with 'Simple Delivery' which actually isn't and is discriminatory which I pointed out to Ebay  but they couldn't see it. Simple obviously just means a simple way for Ebay to make money. A very flawed system and I've been with Ebay for over 20 years but rapidly losing confidence in their ability to run a viable and fair site.

Very odd ,  the issue has not been reported by anyone else,  a real one off.
