Purchased an ipad which never bothered using as when unboxed was new and turned on.
Later tried using the same and found it has an MDM lock and says property of ASOS.
What are my options as a month as passed.

Try your card provider.

The bad news is that eBay's money back guarantee only lasts for 30 days from the date of delivery. After that, they have no interest. I do wish that buyer of expensive phones, ipads etc. would think about this before deciding where to buy them. We regularly hear from buyers whose top-end phones have been reported stolen or blocked too late to be covered by the guarantee.
Unfortunately PayPal's time limit for not as described disputes is also 30 days.
If you paid or funded the payment from a cerdit or debit card you can contatct your card issuer, who may be able to help.
We don't know from whom you bought it, but you should try contacting them. If this is the last seller to have left you feedback they are clearly an unregistered business seller, presenting themseves as a private seller - and refusing to accept returns, so the signs are not good. This may also create difficulties in pusuing any legal action. In your position, if you know who they are and their address I would first complain to their local Trading Standards Office.
Good luck - and next time, remember that buying from strangers on eBay is NOT like buying from the shops, or a known reputable online seller. eBay is a jungle.

Many thanks for the advice, guess would be less of a headache not counting the loss of funds buying from amazon at this point.
Leaving ebay for lesser items of lower value .
Have in any case written to the legal department of the company ASOS who owns the device pasting the link stating where their ipads are bing sold on ebay.
Unfortunately feel that Paypal does not read the complaints before judging as live most of the time in Kenya otherwise yes would have made a claim within the normal time frame
