Bought my own shipping but ebay charged me anyways

Yesterday a buyer urgently needed a parcel so I bought special delivery with my own money, but now I cannot add tracking details as the Ebay Simple Delivery option was on.

It already charged me for the ebay delivery label.

Is it possible to get a refund on the delivery label?

If you had Seller Pays,  that is ' Free Postage',   then yes, you can receive a refund for the unused label.

• If you selected 'Buyer pays’ when you created the listing, your buyer will automatically be refunded for any Simple Delivery label that isn’t used after 30 days

• If you selected ‘Seller pays’ and offered free postage on your listing, you'll need to fill out the Request a refund for Simple Delivery form for the label that wasn’t used. Make sure to send your request within 14 days of your item selling.  Also ensure you add the replacement tracking number of the service used, and it shows delivery.

Preferably use a laptop / PC with Chrome,  that combo seems to work well then add your new tracking this way:

• Go to "Orders Paid & Dispatched"
• Click on "View order details"
• Within the "Postage" section there's a small dropdown arrow next to "Track Package" - click on that.
• Click on the "Add tracking" option
• A box will come up with the current tracking number . Delete that and replace it with your tracking.

To add the new tracking number and mark as dispatched you still need to generate the original prepaid label.   Then go to the More Actions dropdown menu or View Order Details > Postage > Track Package > dropdown arrow and change the tracking.   That has to be done on a desktop browser.

After that if you've paid for the original label you can cancel it here:

Thanks for the reply; I have filled out a refund form.
I cannot change the tracking though, as it says I havent shipped off the item yet and doesnt give me the option to mark it as dispatched.

If you'd generated the original label it would have marked it dispatched.   That doesn't stop you cancelling it afterwards.   You won't be able to do that now you've requested the refund but you could contact ebay and see if they can change the tracking.   You can use callback on here:

But the payment should be released anyway in 14 days.
