Blocking new ebay members from purchasing items.

Hi, I hope someone can help me please.  I recently started selling on here again after a year away.  This morning I received an obnoxious message from a member about one of my items being overpriced.  I replied back and said it had been priced according to previous sales of the same item and then I blocked said member.  Later that day my item was purchased by a new member that was registered that same day with 0 feedback.  My item was collection only and this person said he chose home delivery but on order details it clearly states collection.  I believe this to be the same person.  How do you block new members with say less that 10 feedback.  I know there used to be an option but I cannot locate it.  Or has ebay removed this.  Which means I could be targeted all the more from this idiot.  Any help appreciated.  Thank you.

There has never been the ability to block members with no feedback. How ever would anyone get started, we all started at 0.

Hi john, I've been a member since 2000 and there used to be an option to block new buyers with less than 10 feedback.  I remember it clearly.

It's best not to reply when buyers send provocative messages.

Hi peaseblossom, thanks for the link, been there already.  Yes I've learnt that now.  I think I will contact ebay tomorrow if that's possible and see what they say.

That block was only for those without a credit card registered, then you could block those with no card and less than 5 feedback.

It's never been possible to just block new eBayers.

When you contact ebay they will be able to check if the new member is the same person that has targeted you, and if so they will be able to see that they are circumventing your blocks, which is against ebay's rules.

Thank you guinevere.  Spoken with ebay this morning and all I was told is that there is nothing suspicious with the buyers account.  Hopefully they are genuine.  Proceeding with caution.  I hate being like this, I'm usually so trusting.
