How is it possible for someone to make an offer over the Buy It Now price, surely it should automatically sell?

Personally,  I would be very wary of such an offer,  as why or why would anyone be willing and happy to pay more than that which is listed as the Buy it Now price?  🤔

Seems something ' not right' here and perhaps one to avoid.  In my humble opinion accepting that offer may very well lead to messages regarding cash , or asking for your PayPal details.

To answer your question why wouldn't it sell automatically,  all offers have to be accepted for the item to sell, unless a minimum amount has been set by the seller for an automatic sell if reached.

Thanks for the reply, I've been away for a few days so I've only just seen it. I ignored the offer in the end, so if they were interested I would have thought they would just buy it now. No sale, but at least I've lost nothing.
