How do I adjust the prices of what will be the postal options when Simple Delivery becomes standard on 15 April? Currently when I'm selling I just switch to the 'advanced' postage option and state the price of posting but the default Simple Delivery setting states:

You don't enter postage cost with SD. You put accurate weight of parcel and they do the rest.

Thanks for the reply, but where do I put the accurate weight of the parcel? The default setting is just given as 'under 1 kg' and that prices will start from £2.74... nothing I could possibly send would be that cheap. If it means I have to send something for £2.74 regardless of the actual cost of postage, then I will have to add the difference to the price of the item. But where are the prices listed that eBay will choose when they 'do the rest'? Too little information provided just currently makes Simple Delivery baffling.

You choose the weight bracket that is correct for your parcel. On the SD selling form you click on the arrow on the right of where it says weight and you'll get a pop-up box with more options.
Here's ebay's list of postage prices:

Thanks but Hmm, those price brackets don't reflect the actual cost of sending by Royal Mail, whose Tracked 24 / 48 options have a £150 compensation limit. Or are those figures for Evri, who don't compensate for eg CDs / vinyl LPs? Can I somehow limit / choose which shipping options are available for the goods I'm selling? And what about overseas? It just feels that the wrong prices will surely be applied or the items won't be insured appropriatley if I have to leave it to eBay to choose.

You need to have a read through the information from Ebay.
If an item is lost or damaged in transit the seller will not be responsible for compensating the buyer. Ebay do give details of the maximum cover - without looking (because you really should) I believe it is £750.
You can opt out of using Evri and only use Royal Mail if that is your preference, although your buyer will pay less if you choose Evri.
The buyer will see two prices and choose the option they want - this is the cost to the buyer of a parcel under 1kg using Simple Delivery: (I don't understand the estimated delivery dates so don't ask me!)

Aha OK, I hadn't clocked that about eBay assuming responsibility for compensation. Cue bad feedback being left for sellers when that comp isn't forthcoming...
