Automated return question

A buyer made an offer and purchased an item.  The buyer then subsequently put in a return.  Ebay's system has automated this process and accepted the return an refunded (though it does look like ebay have covered the cost and it says i won't receive the item back)  But is doesn't give any reason for the return.

How do i find out why the item was returned?

If Ebay have dealt with the return case, then the buyer must have opened a claim to say it was 'damaged in transit'.

In such cases, where you posted using Simple Delivery, Ebay deal directly with your buyer and handle the refund. The buyer is allowed to keep the item.

If they had opened any other sort of return, you would have been asked to deal with it.
