Authentication rejection

Hi - I recently sold a pair of trainers that were covered via the authenticity guarantee.  No issue as my items are legit.

They have rejected the item saying that although the item is legit, the box of the trainers is damaged more than what I said in the listing.  I took 3 pictures showing the damage and made reference to it in the item description.
There appears to be no way of appealing this or even getting to speak to an actual customer service rep from eBay as the automated chat just fobs you off and there is no help topic that covers this issue.

Any ideas, tips or help any has?

The authentication team seem to be a law unto themselves.  All you can do is relist and make more of the damage to the box.

The problem might also be a contradiction between selling as new, but in a damaged box, but who knows.

If you buy those trainers to sell on, have a look at the ebay rules on what type of account you need to have.
