Because buyers now pay fees many check out the seller to ensure they are not a business seller trading as a private seller, so they don't pay unnecessary fees while losing consumer protection.

This is what buyers do not like, business sellers not accepting responsibility for their listings and paying fees?
Would you buy from a seller incorrectly registered and being denied consumer protection.
Registered as a private sellerThereby, consumer rights stemming from EU consumer protection law do not apply. eBay buyer protection still applies to most purchases.

Sorry john1297576..............but buyer protection fees have been in play well before 17/7/25 & buyers still have ebay's 30 day money back guarantee which has been ongoing for over 2 years , I also buy a lot of stock on ebay ( well use to as no sales = i'm not buying on ebay anymore ) & it's funny how not one registered BUSINESS seller has cancelled my transaction prior to delivery due to the fact that I also sell on ebay BUT these same BUSINESS seller's ( multiple ) have contacted me asking to do a deal outwith ebay over the 21 years i've bought & sold on ebay ...................... Like I said there is something else going on since 17/7/25 that has caused a drop in sales & looking on Down Detector it's happening in the USA as well
