Having sold an item on the new simple delivery system, it transpired it was over sized from the recommended limits and therefore I was advised by ebay to raise the label through simple delivery, not use it and instead raise a label through a postage company so it could be sent, ebay would then forward a link for a refund claim. Having done as instructed, I raised the label, created a new one with Post Office, entered the tracking number and waited for the refund link email.
As the link never arrived, I contacted ebay and have been advised I was misinformed and that having not used the simple delivery label the buyer will automatically receive a refund and if I want to be reimbursed I need to reach out to the buyer, who may or may not agree.
I do not feel I need to involve my buyer as it was not their issue, ebay are basically saying tough.
Not sure what has changed at ebay recently but it is not the only issue and is becoming painful to use as it's clearly getting in it's own way.
