Advise on a claimed faulty computer item

Any advise would be welcome as I have never experienced this before. 

 

I sold a computer motherboard. The buyer then sends me pictures of his computer screen stating that the board was faulty and the computer would not start. I explained to him that the screen message was telling him that he had not connected the drive to the correct port and I gave them advise on how to set it up. He then said he had already taken the motherboard out as it was 'faulty' and he has started a return procedure.

 

I have proof that it works from his own picture. I cannot find any way to dispute his claim.

What should I do?

eBay are likely to refund the buyer from your funds and tell them they may not have to return the item.

You should accept the return and provide a label.

Refund the buyer when you get the item back.

Ebay don't see the item and accept the buyer's word.

 

Once you have the item back, block the buyer.  You can report them for misusing the Money Back Guarantee if you wish.
