I have already paid £4.25 for postage and then had a royal mail note saying I had to pay an additional £3.50 , the seller won't reimburse me the £3.50 and if I know it was going to cost nearly £8 for postage I wouldn't have bought it. What can I do?

If you don't pay, the item won't be delivered and you will be able to open an 'item not received' case and get your money back.

To add.
Ebay don't get involved with postage disputes.
If you have paid the extra, not much you can do.
As said, you are better not paying it and opening item not received case.

It is not clear, but have you paid the £3.50?
Underpayments of postage by a seller should not be paid, as there is no way to get seller to repay you. Always better to refuse and let it go back to seller, and then get a refund for NOT RECEIVED.
Teaches seller to get postage correct, as they end up out of pocket by amount of postage they did pay as they have to refund you in full.
