Account blocked - arbitrary

Hi

I was hoping you could shed some light on this situation. A friend of mine opened an account, listed one item, it was immediately blocked. Called ebay, they reinstated and said to go ahead relist the item. Account blocked again! Called them the next day, same thing, reinstated the account. Hasn't used the account in a few weeks. Tried to list an item yesterday - permanently blocked! Customer service just repeat themselves like a broken record - there is nothing they can do, they won't reinstate the account, they won't tell what happened "so you can't circumvent our system". Which I think I absolutely ridiculous! How are you supposed to know where you went wrong if they don't tell you? The listings were for collectables/vintage toys which we found other listings for, so nothing unusual. They said, the account is blocked from buying and selling from this address forever.

I wonder if this happened to anyone else and if you figured out where you went wrong? Also, can this be appealed? Is there any point in opening a different account if they made it sound it's connected to the address? What about other account, in different names, the live at this address?

We're just absolutely gobsmacked at the situation and their attitude about it

Account blocked - arbitrary

If another account is opened it will be linked and closed and just make matters worse for anyone else who lives at the same address, or who may have used the blocked account holders device to log into their own eBay account, or vive versa.

Does anyone in the household have an eBay account that was blocked or has outstanding fees on it?

In their shoes, I'd ask for my data here:
