I purchased a refurb iPhone in February and the battery has expended to break the case, it also doesn't hold charge and switches off. The seller is ignoring my messages and their website contact details do not work - email bounces back.
eBay are impossible to contact if the purchase is over 90 days, how do I get help as this should be covered by the supposed 12 month cover eBay boldly states?.

eBay only offer 30 days. Try your payment provider or use money claim online:

Thanks. So the eBay protection is a joke and offers no help to buyers and scam sellers.

No joke, it does what it says on ' the can' . A 30 day MBG Money Back Guarantee policy.
You are guaranteed a refund for a faulty item , but you must claim within 30 days of the item's last estimated date for delivery.
Your item was purchased 5 months ago, way past this guarantee timeframe.

back to the seller who isn't forced to uphold. Thus being useless.
Where are you seeing that 12 month cover info?
It it a refurbished item featuring the refurbished guarantee?

Do you have this:
Once your order has been confirmed, the seller will send you a separate email with details of the seller guarantee, what's covered and their contact information. Alternatively, this information will be included in the parcel when the item is sent to you.
Please make sure you hold on to this information for the duration of the guarantee

It would help us to help you if you could explain where you have seen this, and what it refers to?
eBay's own money back guaratee only last for 30 days, see: https://pages.ebay.co.uk/ebay-money-back-guarantee/

Contact eBay again and let them know that your item is covered under their 12 month refurbished guarantee, and that you have the paperwork but the seller is ignoring you.
I’ve found that the easiest route to contact eBay Customer Services is via the link below where you can request a call back:
