vat charged by ebay on goods from this country

Why am i being charged vat on an item in this country and being delivered in 3 days from purchase

Quick check >> Buyer/Seller Feedback profile only shows Based location (current Address) ... but by clicking through their 'Items for sale /View listings' links will show their Country of registration  > under Seller information in left column ...  often different and if either member is anywhere outside the UK ?, it will trigger due HMRC/Government VAT import fees !.

A seller could say, that this item is plus vat, that would help

the seller doesn't get involved with the VAT it is entirely down to ebay

But I am sure that the seller is aware that VAT as not been charged on the goods when they come into the country.
