Type "Advanced Search" into Help and Contact at the top of the Page. That should bring up a Phone Link for EBay to Call you back. Live Chat should also be available.

have tried advanced search in help and contact it supplies you with info on things i have no interest in but no phone number or a link to a phone number can anybody help me regards leo

There is no current way for members to phone eBay. If you scroll down the page after you have entered advanced search, the call back or live chat options will be there.
