seller fee refund

I've sold an item which turned out to be faulty.

The buyer opened a case.

I sent a return postage slip.

The buyer returned the item.

I refunded the buyer the full purchase price & postage.

Paypal refunded the money to the buyer.

Now, at this stage I would expect Ebay to automatically close the sale and refund the ebay seller fee. But no, it is still listed in My Ebay as a sale & I have had to open a case to say that the buyer is returning the item & I'm refunding the buyer. I now have to wait a further 7 days for this case to close and receive a closure fee refund.

This is wrong. If I hadn't noticed that the sale hadn't been closed Ebay would have kept the sale fee on a transaction that didn't happen.

Ebay should automatically refund the seller fee when they see that the refund has been issued, especially as it's all gone through their refund procedure.

Is there anywhere to raise this issue with ebay? Without having to go through lengthy phone calls. They don't seem to accept emails anymore.

the fact you refunded doesn't prove anything, you may have refunded the paypal payment in order to be paid in cash,

the only way to show ebay that a sale has been cancelled is through the proper channels,

when the buyer requested the return everything should have been done through the open case,

then once the item was returned you mark it as returned and refund through the case, when you do this the FVF is credited straight away,

which part of the process didn't you complete?
