seller cancelled my order

So, I was only bidder on a book. I suspect the seller hoped it would achieve far more bids. I paid directly.
Next day seller cancelled my order and gave me a refund, saying they had to self isolate and therefore couldn't post the item. I messaged seller saying I was sorry to hear they were self isolating but happy to wait until they could post the item. Have not heard back despite 2 other messages to seller.
I feel they will just relist the item in the future hoping for greater bidding. Do I have any recourse to ask seller to honour the auction??

It happens. Sellers can't be forced to sell items, any more than non-paying buyers can be forced to pay.

You can leave appropriate feedback and detailed seller ratings. You can also report the seller here: https://www.ebay.co.uk/help/buying/resolving-issues-sellers/report-issue-seller?id=4022&st=12&pos=1&...

EBay penalises sellers for making seller-iniated cancellations without the buyer's agreement. Your seller will probably have received an account defect from eBay, and been required to pay full fees for the sale.
