I requested to return an item because when it arrived it was much too heavy ( a radiator) and our builder said that it would be too heavy and could damage our building. I opened a 'returns request' because I thought that was what I had to doand explained the situation
The seller wasn't happy that I opened the request and told me "you have to stop the 'returns request' before we can accept it".
My husband said that I couldn't do that (we had been stuck with a smaller item before as the seller told us the same thing - and we still have that item!). The seller agreed and the item was picked up by Courier on Sunday morning. Of course I know that I have to pay the £20 due for the courier.
Yesterday - Monday - the seller emailed me and told me that I had to close the 'returm request' as eBay "won't allow them to refund me whilst the request is open" I again replied "No" and explained that they had the unopened item and my husband said that I mustn't close it before getting my money.
I wrote again today but they have not replied to me .
AM I doing the right thing?
Thank you Peaceblossom,
That's exactly what my husband told me I should do and why - but to be perfectly honest, I thought that maybe I was wrong to fill in the 'Return Item' form and had caused a problem, as I've never done anything like it before
