refund for returned item

Hi,

Could someone tell me please why would a seller who confirmed receipt of an item which returned, say that he cannot issue a refund until I close the return case? Thank you

He needs to issue the refund through the case.

Do Not close the case.

If he won't refund, you can later ask ebay to step in and they'll give him an account defect.
