I am a Frustrated Seller with the need to vent. . . . .
Can someone please explain why we are held responsible for packages not being delivered. Surely once we put our parcels into the hands of royal mail, we have fulfilled our obligations. I get a little tired of being asked "why haven't i recieved my item yet? or why hasn't it been delivered? as though i am responsible for it going through a letter box. I obtain proof of postage on every parcel i send, why is that not proof enough that it has been posted? I offer signed for options with my postage, but buyers never opt for that.
I seem to have had a run just recently of parcels not arriving, then having to do refunds, so not only losing money, but also the item. It makes me wonder how many of them are genuine.
Ebay seems to consider the buyers more so than the sellers, who dont seem to be given a fair chance.
Ok rant over!!
Well proof of postings can help now. On small parcel sizes and above, not on letters. That is, there is a 16 digit number on it, you can go on Royal Mail's website, and see if the item has been delivered, it is not a tracking number, but it will show delivery. If it has, then you can inform the buyer of this, it is then up to them to try and find with whom their postie left their item.
If the buyer still insists on opening a case, fine, you enter that number and you will win, and not have to refund.
Giving an option for signed for is useless and unnecessary for the buyer, the tracking number on it, is only there for the seller's benefit. A buyer will not wish to pay for optional extra postage.
