Go to the left of the item click the little box there and scroll up to Delete.
Not sure if this is possible on the hapless ebay app, but it certainly is when using a laptop / PC / browser but not IE.
Thanks. I've hidden it using the method you describe and it still pops up on both mobile and desktop.
It's gone from "bids and offers" but I get a "you've been outbid" alert everytime someone puts a new bid on.
I doubt it's possible to get rid of because they want you to "increase your bid" and "not let it get away".
What I'm doing on desktop is I've used uBlock Origin to remove the "alerts" entirely.
oh and thanks for describing the app as hapless, an accurate description
Thanks.
Don't be too quick to remove items you've been outbid on.
It's still possible that the higher bidder will retract their bid, leaving you as the winner again.
This is explained in the user agreement, but many bidders have never read it. They buy another item - only to find that they have to pay for both!
To be safe, you need to watch the auction until it's ended before buying elsewhere.
