have I refunded a buyer twice .... even though I've already refunded through paypal. ??????

A customer complained about the trainers she bought even though they were perfect.  She wanted a refund without sending them back.  Ebay stepped in after i reported her to them as i felt something was amiss and she returned them eventually - nearly 4 weeks later.  I refunded immediately through paypal .  I have today received notification that she told ebay she had NOT been refunded and they have paid her and now i owe them!  How can this happen?  How on earth can i get help from eBay - cant seem to find any link! Can anyone help please?  Thank you  Jane

It all has to be done through a dispute in the resolution centre and once you have the item back you refund through the dispute

If you just refund through paypal then ebay does not know you refunded and will refund the buyer and force you to repay.

There is probably nothing you can do except contact ebay and tell them you refunded but it may be too late

Thank you.  I just spoke to eBay and they are sending my money back.  I did refund through ebay though.  Its all very strange .
