I Saw a classified advert for a car on ebay and basicaly called the seller straight away,
i paid a deposit through my bank (debit card) as asked by the seller, also as the seller was well over 100 miles away from me.
I made three calls in total to make sure everything was okay, the car was described as imaculate!!!!
with no problems.
The next day Following my 3,5 hour drive i arrived to the sellers address and noticed that four of the Tyres on the car were bald, i mean very bald, the tracking is out on the vehicle and obviously instead of getting this done they clearly just swapped the tyres around.
There is also an oil leak on the engine that showed up on a previous mot, i asked the seller over the phone if it had been repaired, he said yes everything has been done.
The brakes on the vehicle are not great, i have realised that braking from motorway speeds the front end of the car shakes, (warped front discs)
The rear hand brake has exess travel so probably in need of rear brake shoes.
Bearing in mind i had paid the asked deposit of £200 so was not prepaired to drive home out of pocket,. At this stage i was only aware of the tryes being bald.
I did mention to the seller that i am not sure if to go ahead because of the tyres, i asked if he could reduce the price, even by £60 to help with the cost of tyres, he refused.
I am wondering where to go from here or even if there is anything i can do without it costing me more money, it is soooo frustrating that i can not even leave feedback on a classified ad so as to show everyone how dishonest this seller is.
There's nothing you can do through eBay, vehicles are not covered under the money back guarantee, if you bought from a trader, citizens advice should be your next call.
