abused then left negative feedback!

Hi, a member that I had to unfortunately cancel a transaction with as I no longer had the item for sale, I accept that it was a oversight on my part but the buyer sent me an unjustified abusive message then left me negative feedback, (if you look at the wording it is purely the buyers opinion not based on any facts so surely that must contravene the feedback guidelines?)  which is not justified at all, I have submitted to Ebay through the process where you select from the drop down menus? that obviously I would like the feedback to be removed I received a conformation automated email from Ebay confirming that they had received my appeal/complaint but  my question is how long will I have to wait until I get a response to let me know if the negative feedback will be taken offf? does it take days, weeks or months? Obviously I am feeling really aggrived at this point so would like this issue rectified asap as if you look at my feedback for every other transaction ever, I have provided a excellent service, but just wondering if anyone has any experience in typically how long I will be waiting to hear back from Ebay?
