What to do if an item you have bought could be fake?

I have bought an item that I believe to be fake and I am looking for a contact number for ebay to find out what I should do.  Does anyone know a number I can contact them on so I can check what my rights are or does anyone else know what actions I have rather than just send the item back?

Thanks

Always be careful regarding feedback as the neg you left can be removed for mentioning eBay and trading standards.

It is not normally necessary to contact eBay regarding a fake item. Have you explored the tools that eBay and PayPal give you?

Those almost always result in a full refund if you use them properly and follow the instructions to the letter. It is important to use the tools in the order I have given, eBay first, then if that fails, PayPal.

If you open a PayPal case and it fails for whatever reason you cannot open an eBay case.

It is always best to send the item back for a full refund then buy again on a fresh transaction.

You don't need to contact ebay, just open a Not as Described case in the Resolution Centre using reason: Does not seem authentic.

You will be provided with a prepaid label to return for full refund. If seller hasn't sent one after 4 full business days escalate your case.
