Hi, I can see that eBay require me to input a VAT % on all of my listings now going forward. I am a sole trader and I am Not VAT registered.
My revenue in the last 12 months is £50,000 when combined with my Amazon sales.
Do I need to enter 0% VAT on all of my listings?
Also is there a way to input this via my eBay account settings page as default?
Thanks in advance for any support you can offer me.
You can't add VAT as you are not registered and make a VAT return, so what would you do with the money collected.
If you are being forced to enter a VAT rate then it would have to be 0%, but I still don't think that is right as it implies that you are registered.
Sorry but I am as confused as you are, all the amendments to VAT etc. may be required to do with sales outside the UK, if you have any. I have just recently sold to France and ebay added on the VAT and collected it for the appropriate authority. The address in France incorporated VAT PAID and reference numbers which I assume identify ebay as the collector.
