I brought two records from the same person, he wants £5.80 uk second class postage for each album, i messaged the seller for a combined postage invoice. I had no reply, i messaged again, no reply. I messaged 6 times with no reply to any. Eventually the sale was cancelled i got a warning for no
paying. Now all of a sudden i try to buy something ( i have 100% feedback) and it says there is a problem because i have had 2 unpaid strike in the last two months. How is this fair when i messaged the seller for a revised invoice 6 times with no reply. I was not going to pay over £11 postage when they can go in same parcel for £3.60. Now how do i get ebay to remove the strikes? Please can anybody help!
How is this fair
Because the time to ask about combining postage is before you bid. When you bid for an item, you accept the seller's delivery charge.
If you don't pay then like any other non-payer you will receive a strike for causing the auction to be cancelled. The strike stays on your account for a year. You accepted this in the user agreement.
Sellers don't have to combine postage; eBay itself won't combine it in its global shipping programme. It doesn't matter what their reasons are. Not all sellers here are professionals, many don't even know how to revise an invoice. Some may prepack items for someone to post for them while they're at work, and not want to risk late delivery penalties by having to make changes. Others know the problems that can arise over loss or damage when items are posted together, and prefer to save both of you problems by sending them separately, with separate tracking numbers. Whatever their reason, it's their choice and you accepted this in bidding.
If the seller didn't offer combined postage you can't insist they do. You can try asking eBay to remove the strikes, by contacting eBay CS through the help and contact button on the top of the page, but don't hold your breath.
