The tracking number attached to an item I got on Ebay does not work so the selling has put a non discriped number that has no Tracking properties,,,, Ebays computers think its a real number and I cannot lodge a complaint.
At this time of night I am afraid that I have no idea of what you speak!
Please simplify the question. Are you the buyer or the seller?
If eBay has a tracking number they can see whether it is false. So can you if it's in UK on Royal Mail Website
Thank you - one possible problem is that the "tracking number" may not be Royal Mail but "May" be valid. Examples of this are when the item is coming from overseas where the tracking will relate to the sellers country postal service or where a courier is used. The item that you bought will have a latest delivery date. If from the UK then this will typically be a week to ten days. If from the Far East then that could extend to six weeks. If - when that date is past - you have not got the item then do as @tressygirl says and open a case with eBay for non-receipt. One simple [possible] reason for the tracking shown seeming not to be valid could be that when entering the number the seller missed a digit or transposed one or more.
As said, when you open a case the seller has to prove delivery. If not you will win the case
