TAX TAKEN FOR SALES TO USA

Ebay are taking tax for all items sold to the USA. This has only been happening for past few months, so why are they taxing, and why just the USA?

Each individual State has a charge, there may even be some that do not charge. Ebay add it on then deduct it if you look at the details.

Australia and New Zealand do it better, in that the address you post to has a long code relating to the tax which incorporates the word PAID.

Its there somewhere on the announcements ebay are not taxing it is the US policy

Go to the announcements at the bottom of the page and it should be there.

Blame the USA tax authorities, they decided buyers in USA have to pay it, ebay collects tax from buyer & sends to USA tax man.

Aistralia also have a similar scheme.

THe US might be taking tax, but why is the seller in the UK paying it??

Seller is not paying it, buyer is.
Tax appears on invoice sent to buyer.
