Stupid rule

I've had a warning today telling me that I was trying to buy or sell outside of Ebay.
I sent a message to a seller, who wanted payment on collection of the item, that I bought via BIN saying, 'could you send me your address so that I can collect the item'

How on earth am I supposed to collect and pay for an item, when no address can be given?
People ask me for my details and I cannot send them. It's crazy!!! Can we not collect and pay in person anymore?

Yes you can,   but contact details have to be given After purchase.

eBay charge their fee the second an item sells,   and not when the buyer pays,  so if you gave details Before a purchase then there is nothing to make a buyer go home and press that Buy it Now button after purchase,    so in effect there, an off eBay sale has been made,  no fees given to eBay.

So the rule is ....buyer buys,   but does not proceed to payment.  Contact details can then be exchanged.  They come inspect ,  if all is OK,   they pay cash,   you mark as paid and dispatched.

If they do not wish to buy,  they walk away,  do not pay,  you send a cancellation request to get your seller fee back,   and you can relist the item.
