I have recently sold an item but the buyer has no feedback and will not answer my messages hoy long do I have to give him to contact me before I can relist

If they haven't paid start an Unpaid Item case after 2 or more complete days.   Close it after 4 complete days to end transaction and get your selling fee back from ebay. More info:

If they've changed their mind you could offer to cancel the transaction (via Resolution Centre, bottom of any page, or at More Actions, right of item on sold page).   When they accept that the refund will be issued automatically and the selling fee refunded to your account.
