Seller used fake stamps so I had to pay postage

I ordered an item and a card arrived from Royal Mail advising me to pay for the postage as the sender had used fake stamps. What should I do? I know I can probably ask the seller to refund the money but shouldn't it also be reported to eBay?

There is nothing you can do.  Ebay do not get involved in postage issues. 

You can ask the seller to refund the money but he doesn't have to and he is unlikely to volunteer as he was dishonest in the first place.

What you SHOULD have done, is refused the parcel, and then made a claim for  "not received" via ebays money back guarantee, and got a refund.
