Seller sent second class after I paid for first as the listing and then posted two days after notify

i have e mailed seller but had no reply. How can I get the difference in postage back? This is such shoddy ebaying.

Hi, don't know how to reply so will put it here, sorry.

Technically it was one day late (according to expected delivery). However, I bought it on a Sat, was notified that it was posted on Monday but after receiving on Friday post date was Weds. Why press the despatched button when it clearly hadn't been. And if something had happened, why not tell me? And I have had no apology.

And no, mistakes are not shoddy practice. But charging excess, refusal to reply or apologise are. We all make mistakes. I have upgraded to first for buyers in the past when I have been prevented from quick despatch and let them know why.

Regarding paying for first and only sending second, she refuses to reply to the question. EBay told me to leave negative feedback and for that she left a comment saying I was a bad buyer! Anyway, ebay did remove that for me!

i have never had anything but positive feedback as a seller and buyer and this is the very first time I left negative. It's just a shame that policy allows dishonesty.

Caveat emptor! It's a shame as there are many more honest people on here than dishonest 😔

If the seller won't reply to your e-mails try using the Advanced Search function in the top right hand corner to get the seller's contact details.  First of all click on "Find A Member" and fill in the necessary details, then once you've done that use the "Find Contact Information" link to get eBay to send you the seller's contact details.  The seller will also be sent your own contact details - that way you can contact the seller and speak to him/her directly about the fact that you specifically chose the First Class postage option but the item was only sent via Second Class post.  If you can sort the matter amicably with the seller by discussing it with him/her then the seller may well issue you with a partial refund for the excess postage that you should not have paid for a Second Class service; however, if the seller is not prepared to budge on this issue and refuses to refund any of your money then the only thing you can do would be to include something in the feedback you leave for the seller to reflect the fact that you paid for a First Class service but were only provided with a Second Class service as far as the postage was concerned.
