Seller selling fake perfume

One seller had advertised fake Tom Ford perfume, smell disappeared within seconds, accepted a return and to refund money, but once he received the perfume, decided he won’t pay refund because perfume has been used, by spraying to test if it’s a genuine perfume. But how could one identify that it was genuine or fake without spraying it on skin or piece of clothes?

Sadly, you are yet another buyer who has tried to resolve problems themselves instaed of using eBay's money back guarantee.

In over 1200 trades, did you never even notice that there is a link to this at the top of every listing? EBay would even have required the seller to provide a prepaid return label. (Which would have to be a courier, as it's illegal to post perfume unless it's in its original and unopened packaging.)

You can still open a case now, through the resolution centre, provided you're within the time limit and have a valid tracking or delivery number to prove delivery.

A case must be opened within 30 days after the actual or latest estimated delivery date. You may at some stage be required to enter your tracking number. After 8 days the option will appear to escalate the case, if necessary, for eBay to step in. If still unresolved escalate it, and don't agree to close the case before you have your refund.

You should always use the formal procedures of the Money Back Guarantee !!

You open a not as described case, return the item tracked at the sellers expense & as soon as delivered to the seller you are refunded

The seller could not decline a refund & by selling a fake would risk a ban from the site
