I bought a stock of printer ink tanks through Ebay, from the seller who had earlier provided the printer and inks initially.
Having used some of the tanks, I came to 2 remaining tanks which were incorrect and asked the seller to replace them. Having relocated, the seller advised they presently had no stock of the correct tanks and suggested a refund, requesting an invoice number, delivery address and Paypal reference so they could trace the original supply.
Paypal has persistently declined to send my replies to the seller, despite they contain only info copied from Ebay and Paypal records. As a consequence, I can't get a refund.
I understand the policy to prevent purchases circumventing Ebay, but do not accept that blocking a refund from a purchase made through Ebay is in any way ethical practise.
Why are you involving paypal, print off the copy of your payment then send to the seller. That should give all the information the seller needs. Or take a screen shot and attach to an email.
Paypal would not wish to get involved, what with all the complications of the Data Protection Act, it is between you and the seller.
