Seller refuses to issue postal costs

I purchased a blood pressure monitor, when it arrived it was nothing like the photo and a different model altogether.  I started a return and posted the item off recorded deliver. the same day first class due to bank holiday. The seller says I should have waited for a bag so they say they will not refund my return postage which cost me £4.40.  They said it was their return policy.  I could see nothing on the listing only saying returns accepted within 30 days and buyer pays postage costs.  It said nothing about waiting for a bag to send item back.  Should they still pay at least some of the postage, as they stated they get reduced postage, I would accept what they would have had to pay.

I take it that you have not yet taken the time out to read the eBay money-back scheme details?  If not then do so now, there is a link to it on every listing page.

If you had opened a case for item not-as-described then eBay would have given you a prepaid returns label to print and use at the seller's expense.  As things stand, you would be relying on the seller's honesty to get a repayment of the return costs.
