Seller asking for sensitive information before sending already purchased item

Is it normal after buying an item for the seller to ask for infomation like this:

''Please send us a picture of a Photo ID such as as a passport, or drivers license. In addition to a photo ID, please include a picture of the credit card that was used in your account purchase (assuming you purchased with a credit card). For security purposes please mask off all the digits of the card number except for the last 4 digits.'' 

I have replied cancelling the order as i do not want to hand over my personal details. Am i being paranoid???
