Scam listing & seller?

Hi

I bought a diesel heater on Monday. Soon afterwards the seller sent me a friendly message with their mobile number in it thanking me for the purchase & saying they'd post it as soon as the PP payment had cleared.

About 20 minutes later they sent another message saying they weren't comfortable posting the item to me as my address is a business address even though it's clearly a private residential address. Again they included their mobile number & asked me to contact them on it to discuss it.

Shortly afterwards they refunded me and then sent me another message saying they'd done so. They again included the mobile number inviting me to discuss the issue.

All this happened within about an hour of me initially buying the item. I messaged the seller via Ebay asking what the problem was and why they thought my address was a business address but never got a reply.

Even though the seller has 100% positive feedback there is some old negative feedback with buyers mentioning similar problems. Could it be a scam whereby the seller is trying to obtain my address and other personal details? Should I report this?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

Sounds like seller is trying to do off ebay deal to avoid fees, you can both be suspended for this.

Unless you pay through listing, you have no MBG.

Best to find better seller,

you can leave appropriate feedback, do not mention ebay or refund,

something like this is OK " Bought & paid for item, seller did not honour".
