I sold a perfectly good leather jacket new without tags mint condition, went to a lot of trouble with communicating posting etc ,, guess what guy wants a refund saying it too small, why when it states on my status no returns does ebay say I have to refund, time and again people try it on and eBay issues refund y am I not protected from scammers
Part of the real trouble is that it is simply described as "S" [small] and you even say in the listing "too small" [for you presumably]. It really would be best to list it with all the measurements using your tape measure.
I'm quite sure that it will be a disappointment but if the buyer opens a not as described acse and you deal with it then you get a fee credit and all you are out of pocket is the return post label from eBay [£3 perhaps].
I know I'm a softy but Iconsider that eBay is not all about "sell at all costs". I consider that it is prudent for private sellers to offer "returns" [postage at their cost] so that buyers are not backed into a corner to open a NAD case
If you were to offer to accept returns the buyer might just use that option and pay to return the item themselves, saving you the cost of the return postage.
Perhaps state a simple Returns policy something like, “Returns accepted, buyer pays the return postage”.

No, you're not. The protections that eBay claims for sellers are often pretty meaningless in practice.
The simple fact is that eBay never sees the items sold, and will take the buyer's word against the seller's for any faults.
If an item doesn't fit, this isn't supposed to qualify for a money back guarantee return. But if the buyer "discovers" a tear or burn in it, eBay will support them without requiring any evidence.
In all but name, buyers can return any item at the seller's entire expense, including providing a prepaid return label. If you argue, the buyer can "make sure" it's damaged, or eBay may simply enforce a refund and let them keep it.
Just accept the return (which you must do within three working days) and send them a prepaid return label.
This is the reality of selling on eBay today. Sellers just have to accept it, or sell elsewhere.
