Return Lost in Post

I recently asked to return an item and all went smoothly BUT the seller has not received the item and it was posted about two weeks ago. I sent it recorded delivery and have a tracking number. What is my next move? Am I covered by ebay's guarantee or do I need to claim from Royal Mail?

Thank you!

Caroline.

To amplify the answer of @john1297576 the guarantee will apply if the tracking shows "attempted" delivery or delivery. This prevents sellers escaping liability by refusing items.

What does the tracking say?  Just "collected" ...

The item may - if you put a return address - make its way back to you but otherwise [and assuming you used the correct postage service] you can claim from Royal Mail after - if I recall - 15 business days.

The Money Back Guarantee only applies AFTER the item is received back by the seller. If the tracking does not show as delivered then you have to claim off Royal mail. I assume you have checked up on the tracking, as if showing as delivered RM will not pay out.
