Hi, I've had my account restricted because I agreed to let a potential bidder view an item before bidding. I did give the would-be bidder my address and details so that he could inspect my trailer....and I'm glad he did. He thoroughly examined my trailer and noticed some structural defects with the welding and said it was not fit for use on the public highway. I thanked him for his time and immediately stopped the auction. I'm proud of my feedback and put safety above the value of any sale...I have since contacted a local scrap metal dealer who has agreed to take it away free of charge.
Later in the day, I received an email from eBay telling me my account has been restricted...for acting outside of eBay! Does eBay put fees in front of safety? Has someone at eBay lost the plot!!!
What 'facts' did eBay see?
You gave contact details for a potential buyer to come and view the trailer. You then ended the auction early and withdrew the listing.
eBay sees an off eBay sale and no matter what the truth is, the 'facts' support them.
