Refunding a buyer

Hi,my buyer did not receive item and I refunded him,can anyone tell me what happens now? Does ebay refund me using the money back guarantee? thanks in advance.

Unless the buyer opened a Not Received Case and you refunded through the case, you will not get your selling fee refunded.

You really need to read the Money Back Guarantee, as you clearly have no idea how it works. If you use Royal Mail you use the proof of postage to support a claim AFTER you have refunded the buyer.

Whether you get any compensation or not the buyer still gets their refund FROM YOU.

 As you appear to have refunded outside a case, you will not get the selling fee refunded and will get a Defect

so what do you think should happen if a buyer doesn't receive their item?

of course it is all on the buyers side

sellers have to refund, and if they don't do so voluntarily, ebay use the money back guarantee and force the seller to refund,


the seller then uses their proof of postage to claim from the carrier

Did you do the refund thruogh a dispute in the resolution centre

The buyer opens the dispute and you refund through the dispute

If you just refunded through paypal then you would not get the ebay fees  back

You dont get paypal fees back anyway

To check go to the Account tab on your my ebay page then summary then fees and see if your refunded fees are there

You can claim for lost item with your proof of postage

the money back guarantee ensures the buyer gets their money back from the seller,

it doesn't give the seller any money!

if you processed the refund through ebay you will get your final value fees refunded

to get the cost of the item, you need to make a claim with the carrier
