Refund wait time?

Hey,

Was wondering how long it usually takes for a refund to appear in your paypal account? I know it says 48 hours to process on the message but its been longer so I assume thats an average wait time? How long should I wait before calling up ebay or something?

Case was resolved on Dec29th.

'We've initiated a refund of £ ___  back to the PayPal funding source that you used to purchase the item. Please allow 48 hours for the refund to process.'

I assume it might've ment working days only? Which is still just about in 48 hours i reckon, but regardless, how long should I wait?

My paypal is linked to my ebay account so there should be no issue with sending the refund through? Or is there something else I need to do? I did read the FAQ but it kinda confused me.

If you paid by credit card it goes back to your card. If it was paid by debit card or bank account it goes back to that account. If it was paid via pay pal funds in your PP a/c then it goes back there. In other words the money may not be in Pay Pal.

It can take longer than 48 hours if the seller issues a refund but doesn’t have the funds in PP ... this is handled like an echeque and can take about 5 days ... but I’m assuming that it was a dispute that eBay decided in your favour so normally the money is paid by them not the seller (they then reclaim it from the seller).

You are correct that it will take longer to process over the holiday period but it should appear very soon... have you checked your ‘funding source’? If you look on Pay Pal it should say whether the refund was completed ...check the transaction.
