Why does eBay not act swiftly when counterfeits are reported?
The law is clear but the fakes still get sold to unsuspecting buyers.
Is there a way to contact eBsy in the uK these days? I find nothing on my phone app other than this anonymous community.
As said, buyers are covered by MBG, all listings say this:
"Seller assumes all responsibility for this listing."
So how are ebay to know if fake or not, they never see the item.
You could be a rival seller trying to remove a competitor, so ebay won't remove item on 1 report.
not very heartened to see the various replies giving the tone that it's unreasonable to expect ebay to act; as I've said unsuspecting buyers get scammed and the criminal (that is what a seller of counterfeit goods is) gets away with it. as for ebay knowing it's incumbent on the go-between between seller and buyer to have a responsibility to uphold the law and they shoud have procedures in place to quickly identify illegal goods. Some counterfeits are dangerous - I wonder where ebay's responsibility ends if someone unwittingly buys such goods through the platform gets injured as a result, or worse?
