Raising prices

Is a seller allowed to raise prices during an auction? I made an offer of £40 for a £50 item which was rejected... fair enough, but when I went back to the item page it was £95. Is this allowed? I may have upped my offer to the £50 asked for but that was an awfully large price hike. Thank you

as you made a best offer the auction had no bids so the seller can raise the start price.

of course it's allowed, the item belongs to the seller and they can change the price if they want to,

until there are bids the seller can change the price as often as they like
