eBay put start bid £8.70 i put a buy for £50 it finished I person bid 8.70 which is far to low what do you do

you sell for £8.70 and read up on how ebay works before you list anything else!

a 'buy it now' isn't a reserve

Adding a buy it now to an auction style listing is an offer to the first bidder to buy at that price,

if they chose not to they place a bid and the buy it now is removed and the auction begins at the price you set as the start price,

if no one else bids you sell at that price

that is how it works.

You are far better off just starting an auction off at the lowest price you will be happy to sell it for.......just in case you do only get one bid. Dont use a reserve as this is classed as a listing upgrade and charged as such. Ebay will charge you an extra 4% in fees on the reserve price set and this is payable even if your reserve price is not met and the item goes unsold.

To add :- For collection or delivered items, although you cannot refuse PayPal if a buyer insists (except for Vehicles) ... As a New seller, you should accept CASH on inspection/collection = No 21 day Payment holds/Chargebacks/PP fees/risk of later 'not received/damaged' cases etc. >
