Posting an item to an alternative address

I've won an auction and asked if the seller could post to my sons address as it's an item/gift I've bought for him. She's stated no, as previously has done and buyer claimed it wasn't received. As seller only had proof of postage to alternative address she couldn't prove she'd posted it to the buyer?
I've had other gift items posted to alternative addresses previously with no issues from the sellers?

The other Sellers probably had no idea on the risk they were taking.

Sellers should post to the address Paypal give them when the buyer pays.

The buyer can change the address they want the item delivered to as they go through ebay checkout.

So if you haven't already paid then do that.

If you have already paid the seller is under no obligation to send the item to a different address that you give them via ebay messages.

Some sellers will do it, but they don't have to.
