Postage not paid by buyer

The buyer didn't pay the postage clearly shown on the ad, saying that the invoice from eBay excluded it. I'm left to cover it which is unfair as I have Paypal fees being deducted too. Can anyone advise ?

I also did t dispatch the item promptly as always, because of postage not being paid plus despite eBay showing paid, Paypal showed pending. Really confusing matter and I didn't judge the buyer but felt nervous dispatched the expensive item.

I am going ahead and dispatched to keep buyer happy as they've confirmed the money has left their account but I feel dismayed about the entire matter. Postage request was £3.40. Not a lot but I paid £3 just for the packaging to place the item in to keep it save.

I better not get bad feedback from buyer as this is an incorrect invoicing matter. Will I get credited from eBay ? Why did paypal withhold paid funds from the buyer stopping it from going in to my PayPal account?

Where are you looking to think the buyer did not pay the P&P ??

The figure on eBay is the sale price it excluded P&P

You need to look at the amount received in eBay.....it is likely to be a coincidence that you charged £3.40 P&P.....& Paypal charge 3.4% fees so on a £100 purchased they would take £3.40.....on a £100 sale with £3.40 P&P you should receive £99.69 into Paypal

• While for the most part listing items for sale on eBay is free.....selling is not !!

• When an item sells you pay fees to two companies :

• First is Paypal who charge a fee of 3.4% + 20p (or 3.9% + 20p for international sales) per transaction for administration of the transfer of funds, banking & card charges. These fees are nothing to do with eBay & would be charged to receive any payment for Goods & Services into Paypal (including Facebook, Gumtree, Shplock etc)

• This fee is taken before you receive the funds for the sale as a balance in your account

• Second is eBay

• You will receive a monthly bill for eBay sales commission (Final Value Fee) which is charged at 10% of the sale price INCLUDING P&P

• This fee will appear split on your invoice as the fee on the item price is charged immediately the listing ends, however the fee on the P&P is only charged after the buyer has paid......this is because they may have arranged to collect, to have a premium service or possibly if they bought multiple items they may have been entitled to a postal discount......

• This fee will also additionally include any listing fees including those for optional upgrades such as reserves, buy now etc

• These fees will appear on your Paypal of bank account as "eBay Europe Sarl" or "eBayUKLimited"

• Details of fees here : http://sellercentre.ebay.co.uk/private/what-fees-youll-pay

• In addition, if you use eBay's SHUTL service to print & post your items then this charge will appear with your monthly eBay charges under "eBay SHUTL".....this is because these charges are no longer made at the time of printing, they are only made after the label has actually been used by the courier service & is billed once a month. You are not charged where you print a label & then do not use that courier service

You also need to be aware......

• As a new, infrequent or returning seller seller your first few payments are subject to a 21 day security hold

• This is to ensure you are genuine & have the items you advertised for sale

• When you look in Paypal (all activity) and it says "pending OK to send" then you must send the item

• Your funds will be held for 21 days in order to allow you to send the goods, for them to arrive & be checked by the buyer & for any possible issues to be resolved

• This process can be accelerated to just 7 days if you send the item by a tracked service with online delivery confirmation. When you add the tracking number to eBay & Paypal & it shows delivered then on day 8 the funds are released

• More info here (but feedback is no longer used for confirmation of delivery) http://sellerupdate.ebay.co.uk/autumn2013/changes-payment-holds
