Hello, first time poster here. Could do with some advice please. Purchased a couple of items from the same seller , both poor quality and seller refused to take responsibility. One misadvertised and ended up useless, leaking and damaging an expensive piece of equipment within 1st month. I contacted the seller to let them know there's an issue with the item, they refused to do anything about as it's over 30 days. The other item is likely to be old stock so was useless on arrival, seller asked to return in original condition and demanded I pay postage , which is likely to cost as much as the item itself, which cannot be done as the kit had to be cut to size before I realised it doesn't stick to the door frame and it's not my issue that the quality is poor, so why should I pay return postage? My post is not about the money , both items were under a fiver, it's about the quality and that ebay has become a platform for these rogue sellers . I used to buy almost everything from ebay, but the quality of items for sale had declined over the years and the process of getting your money back or making any meaningful change had become more complicated. I get one or two bits every now and then, but get put off and stop. Just wondering if anyone has come across similar issues and gotten somewhere? Many thanks for reading

If you read the user agreement, you will see that eBay "does not guarantee the existence, quality, safety or legality of items advertised, or the truth or accuracy of descriptions". This is a reminder that eBay is NOT like the shops - would you buy from a shop that had this warning over the door?
What counts on eBay is whether an item is as described. If it isn't, you have 30 days from the date of delivery to use eBay's money back guarantee, see: https://pages.ebay.co.uk/ebay-money-back-guarantee/. For the full terms and conditions see: http://pages.ebay.co.uk/help/policies/money-back-guarantee.html
